Dress for Success San Antonio is a local 501(c)3 agency, affiliated with the worldwide Dress for Success organization. Financial support is not entailed in the relationship. The scope of services has expanded dramatically beyond provision of professional attire. Emphasis at Dress for Success San Antonio is to help clients attain and retain employment, acquire job related skills, adapt to the working world and independently provide for themselves and their families.
More than 60% of clients are definably homeless, living in residential centers, shelters or transiently with family or friends. Security in terms of stable housing is often a primary goal. Studies document that parental employment status and stable housing significantly impact children’s cognition, behavior, general health and school performance. Although clients are primarily the adult women, we ultimately aid their children as well.
